What your blood pressure numbers mean
Your reading has two numbers: systolic (the pressure when your heart beats) over diastolic (the pressure when it rests). Here's where a reading falls under the American College of Cardiology / American Heart Association guideline.
This calculator provides estimates for general educational purposes only. MAP is an approximation from a single systolic/diastolic reading; blood pressure categories follow the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline. It is not medical advice or a diagnosis. A hypertensive crisis reading (over 180/120) needs immediate medical attention. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your blood pressure.
One number for how well blood reaches your organs
Mean arterial pressure is the average pressure in your arteries across a full heartbeat. It's what clinicians watch to judge whether your brain, kidneys and heart are actually being perfused.
Low MAP can mean your organs aren't getting enough blood flow. A MAP under about 60 mmHg is where perfusion to vital organs starts to suffer.
The typical target for a healthy adult at rest: enough pressure to perfuse every organ without straining the heart and vessels.
A consistently high MAP means your heart is working against extra resistance: the long-term strain linked to hypertension and its complications.
Clinical context: a MAP of at least 60 mmHg is generally considered the minimum needed to keep vital organs perfused, and guidelines target a MAP of 65 mmHg or higher in critically ill patients. A single reading only shows one moment, which is exactly why a continuous measure of your blood pressure tells a truer story.

A calculator needs a reading. The Band takes them for you.
A formula turns two numbers you type in into an estimate. The Hume Band 2.0 measures your blood pressure straight from your wrist (no cuff, no clinic) alongside heart rate, HRV, skin temperature and SpO2, every second of the day.
One band. A living view of how your pressure actually behaves when you're awake, asleep, stressed and recovering.
From a single number to a living trend
A calculator captures one moment. These are the things the Band 2.0 does that a formula never can.
Cuffless blood pressure
Optical and pressure sensors read your blood pressure right from your wrist: no inflating cuff, no waiting room. Check it as often as you like, wherever you are.
Around-the-clock trends
See how your pressure moves overnight, under stress and after exercise. Patterns a single cuff reading would miss become obvious once you can see the full day.
Coaching that acts on it
Your AI coach reads your biomarkers and turns them into plain guidance: when to rest, breathe, hydrate or move, tuned to your numbers, not population averages.

Your blood pressure, in context with everything else
A number on its own is hard to act on. The Hume app puts your blood pressure next to your heart rate, sleep, recovery and body composition, so a change actually means something.
Connect the dots and you get a 360° view of your health, updated every day, in one place you actually own.

No cuff, no clinic
Skip the inflating cuff and the appointment. Get a blood-pressure reading whenever a moment matters: before a meeting, after a workout, first thing in the morning.
Catch the trend early
One reading can be a fluke. A trend is the truth. Seeing your pressure drift week over week is what lets you act before a number becomes a problem.

The most honest reading is the one you don't have to remember to take
Because the Band 2.0 lives on your wrist, it captures your blood pressure while you sleep, train and work: the moments a cuff never sees. That's where the real story of your pressure lives.
Comfortable enough for 14+ days between charges, so the data never stops.
